Before Nenad Krstic signed with a Russian team, the New Jersey Nets were exploring sign and trade options, and apparently Kyle Lowry was high on their list.
"But the Nets came closest to pulling the trigger with Memphis, according to someone familiar with the discussion, because the Grizzlies ($14M under the cap, as of today) could absorb a midlevel contract (assuming they were willing to give Krstic a $4-5M average), and the Nets could take a low-wage player in return. So the Nets asked for Kyle Lowry, because he only has two years left on his deal, and were rebuffed. Then they asked for Javaris Crittenton and a draft pick - which the Grizz considered, but passed."
