Recap
: Best of Nova vs. Cincy and Super Bowl XLIII

MVP
Super Bowl: Santonio Holmes - 9 REC, 131 YDS, 1 TD
Nova: Dante Cunningham - 21 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks - Dante has also been the clear MVP of the season so far. He has scored in double figures in 19 of Nova's 21 games, he has recorded at least one block in 9 straight games, and Dante has recorded at least one steal in every game this season.
Offensive Play of the Game
Super Bowl: Santonio Holmes somehow keeping his feet inbounds for the game-winning touchdown.
Nova: Corey Fisher finding Dante Cunningham for the alley-oop from almost halfcourt.
Defensive Play of the Game
Super Bowl: James Harrison's 100-yard interception return for a touchdown at the end of the first half.
Nova: Corey Fisher's steal and breakaway layup. Fish had 11 points off the bench.

Stars Held in Check
Super Bowl: Larry Fitzgerald was shut down in the first half, but finished with 2 touchdowns in the second.
Nova: Scottie Reynolds was shut down in the second half (2 points), after scoring 9 points in the first. Nova held Cincy's star Deonta Vaughn to 8 points on 3-14 shooting.
Gritty Performance
Super Bowl: 37-year-old Kurt Warner almost winning his 2nd Lombardi trophy: 31/43, 377 YDS, 3 TD.
Nova: Dwayne Anderson almost getting a double-double: 9 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal. Dwayne is heating up from downtown; he had Nova's only two 3-pointers in this game and has hit at least one 3-pointer in five straight games.

Coach of the Game
Super Bowl: Mike Tomlin - Became youngest head coach to win Super Bowl
Nova: "Casual" Jay Wright - I don't know what he said at halftime, but it worked. Nova was up by only one at the half, but came out of the locker room motivated and outscored Cincy by 2o in the second half.

Streaks/Legacies
Super Bowl: Record 6th Super Bowl win for Pittsburgh Steelers, 2nd for QB Ben Roethlisberger
Nova: Record 25th consecutive win in the Pavilion

This was a nice win to cap off a huge week for Villanova basketball. They move to 5-3 in the Big East, and with a win at Providence, they can move to fifth place in the conference.
