Villanova came out firing on all cylinders to defeat Albany in their season opener. Play got a little sloppy in the second half, but Nova went on to win easily 78-60.
News came in before the game that Dwayne Anderson suffered a stress fracture in his foot and will be out indefinitely. Dwayne is a key player and this especially hurts since Shane Clark is also injured. Luckily Villanova is a deep team with guys like Corey Fisher and Reggie Redding that can step up. It's also better to be hit with injuries now than later in the season, as Anderson and Clark should both be back by the time Big East play begins.
I will post a full game recap later tomorrow.
